Hot & humid Tuesday, increasing storms this week
TONIGHT: It will be muggy as temperatures will only bottom out in the low 70s by morning under mostly clear skies. We’ll see winds remain out of the south up to 12 mph.
TUESDAY: The heat and humidity continues as temperatures reach the low 90s and heat indices climb to 95-99 degrees. Southerly winds will increase to near 15 mph in the afternoon and could gust as high as 25 mph at times. An isolated storm is possible Tuesday afternoon in areas closer to I-44 and east of HWY 63 but most areas will stay dry.
EXTENDED: There is a slight chance of a shower or t-storm Wednesday morning but storm chances will increase Wednesday afternoon and overnight ahead of a slow moving cold front which will gradually sink into Mid-Missouri. Any storms that develop Wednesday have the chance to be on the strong side, and all of Mid-Missouri is under a marginal risk for severe weather. Strong wind gusts to 60 mph and large hail up to the size of quarters are the main threats. After a chance of early morning storms Thursday, it looks like a dry day before storm chances return each day from Friday through Sunday as hot, humid weather continues into the weekend.
