Summer-like conditions by Sunday afternoon
TODAY: Heat and humidity will continue to build throughout Sunday as temperature climb into the lower 90s for the high. Heat indices will be in the mid 90s making being outside unpleasant by the afternoon. Skies will remain mostly sunny with winds from the south gusting up to 25 mph. By tonight, expect warm conditions with temperatures in the upper 70s and a southerly breeze around 10 mph.
MONDAY: Hot and dry weather will persist into Monday with temperatures reaching the lower 90s and heat indices in the mid to upper 90s by the afternoon. Although it will be a gorgeous, sunny day, make sure to stay hydrated and take regular breaks in a cool place if you will spend extended periods of time outside.
EXTENDED: The 90 degree days will continue through Tuesday with muggy nights in the 70s. Our next chance of storms comes next Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front drops into Mid-Missouri. There won’t be a noticeable drop in temperatures behind the front, as we’ll only see one day in the upper 80s, before the 90s return. Most of next week features daily storm chances.
