Local teenager organizes Columbia park party
A Columbia teenager hosted dozens of people at an east Columbia Park Friday.
Local artist C.J. Stock put on the event at Indian Hills Park, just off Ballenger Lane. Stock said his group is called “EAST”, for “Everyone Around Struggled Together.”
ABC 17 News has told you about Columbia’s own effort to improve and invest in that area of the city, like lowering crime and poverty rates.
Stock said he was able to pay for the food and fun with some help and money he made through his music.
He told ABC 17 News it doesn’t take someone with a lot of money to do something positive.
“You don’t have to be a millionaire to do it. As long as you work hard and dedication, it should turn out right, everything should happen,” said Stock.
Indian Hills Park is in one of Columbia’s Strategic neighborhoods.
