Comfortable conditions through Friday evening

TODAY: Friday afternoon and evening will be our last day for low humidity as we head into the weekend. Temperatures will easily rebound back into the lower to mid 80s under sunny skies. Southerly winds stay under 10 mph as evening temperatures slide into the lower 70s. Clear skies tonight will allow for the perfect opportunity to see tonight’s Strawberry Moon, peaking at 9:10 PM.

SATURDAY: The start of the weekend will be warm with morning temperatures in the lower 60s increasing to the upper 80s by the afternoon. Heat indices will rise making the outside temperature feel like the lower 90s during the afternoon hours. Winds will be coming from the south near 6-11 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

EXTENDED: It will start to feel even more humid as we head into Sunday. High h umidity will allow heat indices to rise into the mid to upper 90s with highest heat indices in our northwestern counties, making it “feel” more like summer. On Sunday we could see wind gusts up to 25 mph again, pulling in more moisture and priming the rest of the weekend into next week to feel even muggier. These 90 degree temps will continue into Monday and Tuesday as well. During this time, overnight lows will stay in the 70s with muggy conditions. The best chance of storms comes next Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front drops into Mid-Missouri. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
