Fulton man pleads guilty to assault of wife, law enforcement officer

Ryan Dooley, 22, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to two counts of domestic assault in the second degree and one count of assault of a law enforcement officer in the second degree. The judge sentenced Dooley to 7 years in prison on each of the charges.

ABC 17 News previously reported on Dooley in 2016 when he physically assaulted his wife by striking her and choking her in March 2016. Dooley was in serious condition after he was shot by a Callaway County deputy who responded to the assault and refused to put down an axe when confronted by deputies.

The case was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office. Dooley also pleaded guilty to charges of burglary in the first degree and stealing a firearm in unrelated crimes, which he received a total of 12 years for.
