AC units to be donated to elderly, low income families

On Tuesday, an organization is looking to help out people in need.

Ameren Missouri is donating 50 Energy Star air conditioners.

These ACs are necessary for eligible low income and elderly customers who do not have an AC in their home.

While it is only the begining of summer, residents in Columbia and Jefferson City have already seen temperatures in the 90’s and the humidity will begin kicking in later on this week.

The event begins at 10 a.m. at the Samaritan center in Jefferson City.
