Single vehicle crash in Gasconade leaves one dead

A 56-year-old man has died after a single vehicle crash in Gasconade County on Thursday evening.

John Lanning Jr. was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty eastbound on Route ZZ. Lanning failed to negotiate a right turn, traveled off of the left side of the road, down an embankment and rolled into a creek.

Lanning was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is Troop F’s first fatality for June and 24th for the year.
