Husband and wife charged with kidnapping of Mexico female

A husband and wife were charged with second degree kidnapping and felony possession of a controlled substance on Sunday after reports of an abduction were made to the Columbia Police Department.

The mother of the victim reported that the victim had missed two days of work and that the last time her daughter reached out to her, it sounded like she was in a drugged state. The victim told her mother she was at an unknown hotel and that she’d return to Mexico, but never did.

On the same day, Columbia Police were called to 4916 Brown Station Road, Lot #17, after reports came in of a blindfolded female being taken from the home and thrown inside of a white van. The witnesses identified the female that was taken away in the van as the woman that the husband, Justin Todd, was living with. The witnesses also said that the wife, Danielle Todd, had been causing disturbances at the home.

The female that was put inside of the van was found at Midway Budget Inn at 6401 Highway 40 in Columbia. She was not harmed, but did tell authorities that there was a woman inside the home who was possibly being held against her will. This second female was identified as the victim from Mexico.

A traffic stop was conducted on the white van at 24004 Veterans Memorial Parkway in Warren County. The kidnapping victim and the Todds were in the van. They were all taken into custody for questioning.

Police executed a search of the van and found dark colored bandanas, black zip ties, pieces of duct tape with hair, a cut pair of blue jeans, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a black HK air pistol.
