UPDATE: Amber Alert for 13-year-old cancelled, 19-year-old charged
UPDATE 4:50 P.M.: Gregory Barton has been charged with one count of first degree Statutory Rape. Barton is being held in the Dent County jail with a $100,000 cash only bond.
UPDATE 2:03 P.M.: The Dent County Sheriff’s Department released a statement saying that one of the males in the car, Gregory Barton, 19, of Bunker was in a romantic relationship with the teen that started online. The other man in the car that the girl got into was Barton’s grandfather. Barton has been arrested for the incident.
UPDATE 8:34 A.M.: The Dent County Sheriffs department said the two male suspects have been found and are being questioned.
UPDATE 7:01 A. M.: The Dent County Sheriff’s Office says a 13-year-old has been found safe.
ABC 17 News has called the department to find out if anyone is in custody in connection with the incident, but was told to call back later Wednesday morning.
ORIGINAL: The Dent County Sheriff’s Office has issued an Amber Alert for a 13-year-old they say was abducted early Wednesday morning.
It happened around midnight Wednesday morning in Salem, Missouri. That’s about 40 minutes southeast of Rolla.
The sheriff’s office say the suspect vehicle is a maroon two tone extended cab pickup. Authorities say a 50-year-old man with a black beard and a 30-year-old man were inside the suspect vehicle at the time of the abduction.
Anyone with information should call their local law enforcement immediately.
