Moberly police respond to multiple fights, gunfire, fireworks this Memorial Day weekend
The Moberly Police Department responded to multiple calls of fights, gunfire, fireworks, intoxicated drivers, and disturbances throughout the Memorial Day weekend.
On Saturday, officers responded to the 600 block of Garfield in Moberly regarding an assault in progress along with a shooting. Upon arrival, a 33-year-old woman, a 45-year-old man and 50-year-old man were arrested for 2nd degree assault. Officers found a shell casing, a handgun and knives at the scene. There were no reported injuries during the altercation.
Also Saturday, officers responded to the 1300 block of Quinn Street regarding an assault in progress and a vehicle versus pedestrian accident. Moberly police arrested a 61-year-old Moberly woman on a second-degree for domestic assault charge. A 43-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers also went to the 400 block of East Urbandale regarding a fight Saturday. When officers arrived, a gunshot was heard. Officers later located a shell casing and a firearm. Officers arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon. No injuries were reported.
On Sunday, officers responded to the 500 block of Carpenter Street regarding someone disturbing the peace. When officers arrived, they arrested a 41-year-old woman on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child. The 14-year-old was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
