Severe storms through Saturday evening

TONIGHT: Several thunderstorms have began to pop up in mid-Missouri ahead of the main system. The bulk of the storms will move into the area from the west by 2 PM – 3 PM and will continue into late tonight. Areas along and south of I-70 are under a moderate risk for severe weather, while other portions of mid-Mo are under a slight risk for severe storms. All modes of severe weather are possible, especially for those south of I-70. Very large hail, strong, damaging wind gusts, and isolated tornadoes are possible. The strongest storms will also produce heavy rain. Storms will begin exiting to the southeast around 10PM tonight.

SUNDAY: Sunday will be drier with a slight chance of isolated storms closer to I-44 in the morning. High temperatures will reach the upper 70s with partly sunny skies and drier weather by the PM hours.

EXTENDED: Memorial Day is going to be a perfect day to enjoy outside. Weather will be less humid, skies will be clear, and temperatures will be warm near 80 degrees. Tuesday will also bring favorable weather with sunny and dry conditions and temperatures in the upper 70s. A chance for storms moves in by Tuesday night and through the rest of the week.
