Child dies in northeast Columbia fire

ABC 17 News confirmed a 4 year-old boy died on Friday after a fire in northeast Columbia. Zadrian Harper, 4, was found in a bedroom and went to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

More than a dozen officers and firefighters first responded to Quail Drive around 12:15 p.m. The street is off Sylvan Lane, between Paris Road and Clark Lane.

Police later said one adult and four children were home when the flames broke out, including Harper.

The circumstances surrounding the fire and a possible cause remain under investigation.

Family and friends held a candlelight vigil in front of the home Friday night. Family members said they were getting together this weekend to celebrate Memorial Day weekend.
