Jefferson City man seriously injured after motor scooter crash

One man is seriously injured after a crash in Jefferson City on Friday between a motor scooter and a 2007 Chevrolet Impala.

Jefferson City Police officers and emergency personnel were called to the 800 block of Eastland Drive and found Elmer Redcay, 62, or Jefferson City on the ground with serious injuries. Redcay was operating the scooter.

The Impala was going southbound on Eastland Dr. and was preparing to turn left into the parking lot of the McDonalds, when it collided with the motor scooter that was going northbound on Eastland Dr.

Redcay was ejected and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to University Hospital for treatment. The crash is being investigated.
