Scattered storms through Monday evening

TODAY: Despite the increasing clouds, it’s a beautiful afternoon across Mid-Missouri. Temperatures are hovering near 70 degrees, which is right around average for this time of year. Storms are currently firing in northwestern Missouri and will gradually work there way south and east through the day. The rain chance increases in the afternoon with isolated thunderstorms likely. We are not under a risk for severe weather, while some of the stronger storms will have heavy rain and small hail. Rain amounts of 0.25″ to 0.50″ looks good at this time, with the highest amounts in northwest Mid-Missouri. Highs today are near average in the mid 70s with a southwest wind under 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Isolated storms look possible through 8AM Tuesday morning. Temperatures overnight will be seasonable in the mid 50s with light winds under 5 mph becoming northwesterly by Tuesday.

EXTENDED: Widely scattered showers are possible on Tuesday. It will be cooler tomorrow with highs in the upper 60s. Wednesday looks to be the coolest day of the week, nearly 15 degrees below normal in the low 60s. We’ll start to warm back up on Thursday with plenty of sun and highs in the mid 70s. Storms look possible heading into Friday morning, and again during the day on Saturday. At this time, Sunday looks to be dry as we’re approaching the holiday weekend with temperatures warming to the low 80s. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
