Deputies “know who they’re looking for” after shooting on Gregory Drive
UPDATE 5/17 9 am: The Boone County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the suspect they are looking for believed to be connected in the shooting.
Deonte Shaw, 18, has two felony warrants already out for his arrest.
Currently Shaw has a no bond outstanding warrant for unlawful possession of a weapon and an outstanding warrant for receiving stolen property with a $5,000 cash only bond.
A detective for the Sheriff’s Department says, “we need to get this suspect off the streets.”
UPDATE 5/17 8am: The Boone County Sheriffs public information officer tells our crews no arrests have been made but deputies know who they are looking for.
The detective said there were a few people inside the residence at the time of the shooting but no one was hurt.
The detective also says the tenant of the residence have been an issue for some months now and the landlord is working with deputies to evict the resident.
ORIGINAL: A deputy with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to ABC 17 News that it is working a drive-by shooting in Boone County.
The call went out after 7 p.m. for the 5900 block of Gregory Drive. It’s on the north edge of Columbia.
ABC 17 News spoke with witnesses who said they each heard multiple gunshots.
Deputies found bullet holes in a home and collected shell casings from the scene. They cleared the area around 8:30 p.m.
