Columbia man arrested on suspicion of domestic assault

A Columbia man is being held on a $10,000 bond for allegedly assaulting a woman in early May.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department said deputies arrested Michael Havrum, 33, Friday night on suspicion of third-degree domestic assault.

A sergeant with the department said deputies were called to a home in the 8000 block of Rambling Rose Road on May 4 for reports of Havrum beating a woman.

Havrum took off before deputies arrived to the home.

Deputies said Havrum has a history of violence and domestic assault incidents.
