Columbia woman arrested on suspicion of assaulting a man

Columbia police arrested Meisha McDuffy, 20, early Saturday on suspicion of attacking a man with a cutting tool the night before.

Police said they responded to a report of assault at Douglass Park around 8:40 p.m. Friday.

They said McDuffy was upset with the 19-year-old victim when she went to the park and started punching him with her fists and a cutting tool.

The victim had cuts on his stomach, arms and hands. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

McDuffy is facing charges of armed criminal action and first-degree assault.
