Summer-like weather for Tuesday afternoon

TODAY: If you’re a fan of sunshine, there’s plenty of it across Mid-Missouri today. This afternoon, expect another summer-like day, as temperatures climb into the mid and upper 80s. Humidity will be on the increase through the day, so you may notice at times it could be uncomfortable to be outside. There will be an increase in high clouds during the day as the next storm system approaches moving in by Wednesday morning. Winds through the day will be light out of the west/southwest under 12 mph.

TONIGHT: Look for a partly cloudy to mostly cloudy sky with lows only dipping to the mid 60s. Winds look be from the southwest under 8 mph.

EXTENDED: We will still be warm Wednesday with high temperatures near 80. There is a chance for isolated thunderstorms to arrive by 8AM-10AM near HWY 65 and into US 63 near Columbia and Jefferson City by 11AM-1PM. The best chance in the afternoon is north of I-70. Wednesday afternoon and evening there is a Marginal Risk for severe weather. The threat is low, but a few storms could have damaging wind and large hail. As we move into Thursday, showers are likely as the front stalls near I-70 before moving south Thursday night. Rain amounts look to range from 0.50″ in northeast Mid-Missouri to up to 1.50″ in southwest Mid-Missouri. Rain will likely move out by early Friday morning near I-44, leaving us dry as we head into the weekend. High temperatures will stay near 70 Thursday and Friday, warming into the mid to upper 70s this weekend.
