Sunshine returns Tuesday
TODAY: It’s a chilly morning as temperatures will fall to the low 40s under a mostly clear sky this morning. Sunshine returns with a westerly wind becoming northwesterly this afternoon. Winds will gust through the day up to 22 mph. Temperatures will warm to the upper 60s by afternoon.
TONIGHT: Clouds will start to increase from the west/southwest by 6PM-7PM spreading northeast. Rain looks to begin in for southwest Mid-Missouri by 2AM-3AM near the Truman Reservoir and Lake area. It will be a cool night again with lows in the mid to upper 40s.
EXTENDED: Rain looks to increase into Columbia and Jefferson City by 4AM-6AM becoming heavy by 7AM. Most locations from I-70 and south will see 1″ to 3″ by Wednesday evening. Newest data suggests this system could slow down heading into Thursday morning. If this occurs, areas from US 63 and east could see upwards to 4″ by Thursday 12PM, including the counties of Boone, Cole, Callaway, Montgomery, Gasconade, and Audrain. Showers will end early Thursday morning west of US 63 while it looks possible it will continue through 12PM for those east. Winds will come in from the north Thursday at 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph at times. Friday is looking dry and sunny with no rain at this time for the upcoming weekend.
