Sigma Chi Fraternity also released a statement:

“We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kamil Jackowski, a member of our chapter at the University of Iowa following an off-campus chapter social event this past Sunday morning.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Jackowski family, and all that knew Kamil, during this very difficult time. All members of the chapter and those that attended last Saturday’s social event in Lake Ozark, Missouri have been provided access to grief counseling to help them cope with this sudden loss.

As is our policy related to tragic events such as this, we immediately placed the chapter on interim suspension pending a thorough investigation into the events that led up to this heartbreaking incident. We are also fully committed to cooperating with the University of Iowa as they work to complete their own inquiry into the matter and appreciate the partnership and support they have given thus far.
