UPDATE: Power restored to Columbia Water and Light customers

UPDATE 9:45 a.m.: Columbia Water and Light crews restored power to all customers that were affected.

Police said the power outage was most likely caused by the crash on north Garth Avenue.

ORIGINAL: According to Columbia Water and Light’s power outage map, about 445 people are affected by a power outage around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

Water and Light crews are on the way to the scene to assess the problem, but they could take about an hour to get there and fix it.

A crash near north Garth Avenue occurred around the time the power went out.

Columbia police have not confirmed if the crash was the cause of the power outage. Police said they won’t be able to confirm it until Water and Light crews arrive.
