Wet roads cause crashes throughout mid-Missouri

Rain is believed to be a factor in at least two crashes in Boone County and another crash in Cole County Saturday afternoon.

Both crashes in Boone County happened on Highway 63. The first happened on Highway 63 northbound just north of Rangeline Street.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the driver hydroplaned, went off the road, hit a rock bluff causing the car to overturn. The driver wasn’t hurt in the crash, but a 78-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

At 2 p.m., emergency crews responded to a crash on Highway 36 southbound at Angel Lane for a single-car crash. Troopers said the driver lost control of the car and crashed into the ditch.

The driver wasn’t hurt in the crash, but the car was stuck in high water in the ditch for a period of time.

In Cole County, a 34-year-old woman was seriously injured in a crash on Tanner Bridge Road Saturday afternoon.

Trooper said the driver hydroplaned, lost control of the car and hit a tree.

Emergency responders want to remind drivers to use caution while driving in heavy rain this weekend.
