St. Louis homicide suspect arrested in Columbia
A Columbia woman wanted for a homicide investigation in the St. Louis area was arrested in mid-Missouri Friday night.
The Columbia Police Department said it had received information from the St. Louis Police Department that suspect Emily Paul was in town.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Paul is the girlfriend of Jibri Baker, a St. Louis man accused of smothering his three-month-old child to death on April 8.
Baker was charged with first degree murder on April 9.
The Dispatch reported police found messages between Baker and Paul indicating Paul had encouraged Baker to suffocate the child to death.
Just before 7:20 p.m. Friday, officers arrested Paul at Green Meadows and Providence Road on a warrant for first degree murder.
As of Friday night, Paul was in the Boone County Jail awaiting extradition to St. Louis.
Her bond is set at $400,000.
