Missouri Task Force 1 deployed to West Plains ahead of flood warnings

Missouri Task Force 1 has been deployed by the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to deploy to West Plains ahead of warnings of severe flooding in the region.

SEMA has asked that a Type 4 Task Force with an embedded Type 1 Swiftwater Rescue Team be deployed to flooded areas in the region as needed.

The task force will leave today at noon and will have four Jon boats, two Zodiac boats, a 12 passenger van, a command vehicle and 25 personnel with them.

The team could be gone for up to two weeks.
