Unsettled week ahead, severe storm threat

TONIGHT: Clouds will increase and temperatures will stay mild with early morning lows in the lower 50s and a southeast wind under 12 mph.

TUESDAY: The warming trend continues into Tuesday as temperatures will reach the low 80s but it will be windy. Southerly winds at 12-20 mph will gust as high as 35 mph at times. There is an isolated shower chance north of I-70 in the morning up until 10 AM.

EXTENDED: A line of showers and t-storms will move into Mid-Missouri Tuesday night after 10 PM. There is currently a marginal risk for severe storms for the possibility of large hail or damaging wind gusts with these storms. The slow moving cold front will move east through Wednesday, giving us a chance of storms from late morning through the afternoon with the best chance of strong to severe storms along and east of HWY 63. Temperatures will fall during day Wednesday as this front moves through and winds shift to the northwest. It will be cooler and mainly dry Thursday with highs only near 60. Another round of rain is expected Thursday night into Friday morning and yet another Friday night into Saturday. It will warm to near 70 Friday and Saturday with more rain and storm chances Saturday afternoon through early Sunday. As of now, it looks like we could see 2-5 inches of rain from Tuesday through Sunday with highest totals near I-44 and lowest in our northwest counties.
