Rain ending by Saturday afternoon, with chilly conditions to follow
SATURDAY: This morning, showers are falling in areas south of I-70 and will continue to drift off to the east as we head through the day. Thanks to the slow and steady rain, flooding isn’t looking as promising as initially thought. The heaviest rain has stayed well to our south, as the parent low has shifted a bit. This will still bring us rain through the remainder of today, but primarily south of I-70. A few spot showers are possible for the first part of the morning north, but outside of that skies will begin to clear. Northwest Missouri will see temperatures climbing into the upper 50s and lower 60s today, while those south will see rain and temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Winds will also be breezy today out of the northeast up to 20 mph, gusting to 30. Rain ends for all as we head into the evening.
TONIGHT: Decreasing clouds through the evening and a northerly breeze, will lead to a cold night. Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s, with winds up to 10 mph. This will lead to wind chill values by morning in the mid 30s across a good portion of the region.
EXTENDED: Sunday looks nice with sunny skies, light northerly winds and high temperatures in the upper 60s. We’ll warm to the low to mid 70s early next week with mainly dry weather through Tuesday. Rain chances increase Wednesday through the end of next week. As we head into the latter half of next week, the rain looks to once again bring a flooding threat to Mid-Missouri, along with a chance for strong storms.
