Dry and sunny for National Picnic Day
After what has been a wet and cool end to the week, rain showers will finally come to an end as we head through Saturday afternoon. Rainfall amounts have been heaviest south (up to 2 inches near Rolla), to a trace north. So this weekend, was all about where you lived in proximity to the heaviest rain showers.
Unfortunately, even those who didn’t see the rain saw cool temperatures. Overcast skies are still holding steady and we’ll gradually see clearing skies as we head into the evening. High pressure slides into the plains and brings cooler weather with it. Thanks to the clearing skies and breezy north winds, temperatures tonight will fall into the upper 30s across the region.
Heading into Sunday, a treat is in store for Mid-Missouri. Beautiful and picture perfect weather is in the forecast and coincidentally it’s also National Picnic Day. Under sunny skies tomorrow, temperatures will rapidly warm into the upper 60s and lower 70s making for a great end to the weekend.
You’ll want to enjoy the beautiful weather both Sunday and Monday because the unsettled and wet pattern returns as we head into the middle of next week.
Stay tuned to ABC 17 News as we continue to track the upcoming rain chances.
