One hospitalized after car flips on Route J in Boone County

UPDATE: Emergency responders confirmed one person was hospitalized after a crash in Boone County Wednesday night.

It happened about 20 minutes north of Columbia on Route J just before 9 p.m.

A single vehicle crashed, flipping on its top. A trooper on scene said speed was likely a factor.

The driver, a 22-year-old man, had to be extricated from the vehicle. It took about 25 minutes to extricate him due to the position of the vehicle.

He was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The road was closed for a brief period of time while crews worked the scene.

It happened about 20 minutes north of Columbia just before 9 p.m. on Route J.

Crews have shut down parts of the road near Callahan Creek Road.
