Isolated Showers Friday
TODAY: Most locations will be dry for the morning commute. There is a slight rain chance for Cooper, Howard, and Boone counties from 5AM-8AM where 0.01″ to 0.05″ of rain is possible. Meanwhile, a line of showers to our west will increase over HWY 65 by 8AM and work into US 63 by 12PM-2PM. There is a chance for rumbles of thunder and some lightning, while severe weather is not expected. The rain chance looks to come to an end from 3PM-5PM east of US 63 with rain totals of 0.01″ to 0.10″ east of US 63 and up to 0.40″ west of US 63 and north of I-70. It will be a warm afternoon with temperatures again reaching the 80s with a southerly breeze and winds gusting to 25 mph.
TONIGHT: It looks quiet and mild tonight with a partly cloudy to mostly clear sky. Temperatures will be warm again, only dropping to the mid to low 60s with southerly winds under 10 mph.
EXTENDED: Saturday looks warm and breezy with partly cloudy skies and southwesterly winds gusting to 30 mph at times. There is a slight storm chance during the day on Saturday from 1PM-4PM for those north of I-70. Our better chance of storms moves in Saturday night after 10PM as a cold front moves in from the north. Scattered showers and storms are possible through Sunday morning with rain chances decreasing into the afternoon as the rain chance moves south with the front. There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather on Saturday night for damaging wind and large hail. High temperatures will reach into the low 70s Sunday. Storms could redevelop along this front south of the Missouri River where over the Ozarks and I-44 storms will be possible during the day on Sunday. Next week is looking unsettled with rain chances each day next week where rain amounts through next Friday could bring a total accumulation of 1″ to 4″ .
