Skipping town for the beach sounds nice, but some mid-Missourians brought home more from vacation than just a tan.
Dr. Tara Flynn from Mizzou Quick Care and Urgent Care says she is seeing a lot of travel-related illnesses this week as people return from Spring break. These include nasty sunburns and diarrhea.
Flynn also says that as it turns green outdoors here at home, more people are dealing with allergies, rashes and hives.
Young patients are dealing with fifth disease right now. It’s an illness that causes red cheeks and a facial rash and can cause sore throat, fever and sore joints.
Both Flynn and the doctors at Broadway Urgent Care say they are seeing the flu this week, particularly flu B. However, they do say it is dying down.
The Broadway doctors also say they are seeing patients with bronchitis and sinus infections.
