Isolated storms likely through Monday afternoon

TODAY: A mild day all around is planned for Mid-Missouri, as far as temperatures are concerned. The only thing that will keep us on the cool side, is where rain and thunderstorms fall through the day. Through the afternoon, expected a swath of rain to spread across Mid-Missouri, with the potential for a few thunderstorms. Overall accumulation is expected to be near .50″ through by evening. There is a small chance that we could see a stray thunderstorm go severe, with the only threats being small hail.

TONIGHT: A slightly cooler night is expected, with lows in the upper 40s. Rain comes to an end by 10 PM, with fog settling into the region. Winds through the night will be breezy out of the west under 15 mph.

EXTENDED: It looks dry on Tuesday morning, while Tuesday afternoon and evening will bring additional rain and thunderstorms. Rain looks to start up north of I-70 after 3PM, with rain and storms increasing to those south of I-70 after 6PM. Storms Tuesday evening will be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds of 60 mph. Storms will be possible into Wednesday morning. Sunshine returns from Thursday through Saturday where, however it looks cool by Thursday night as lows dip to the low 30s. We’ll need to watch for the possibility of widespread frost Thursday night.
