Rain and storms to continue late Sunday night

TODAY: A slight break in the wet conditions will come by the early afternoon with temperatures much warmer in the upper 60s. Spotty showers are possible through the afternoon hours, but conditions will be mostly dry for Mid-Missouri. By Sunday late night, another round of rain and thunderstorms makes its way into Mid-Missouri from the southwest.

MONDAY: Expect rain and thunderstorms into Monday morning continuing into the afternoon. Additional accumulation will be around 1/2″ – 1″ for much of the area. By the evening, showers will taper off leading to a break in the rain with temperatures mild in the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: The break in rain will continue into Tuesday, but will end as another rain chance moves in by the late night hours. Rain and thunderstorms chances continue through Wednesday and Thursday. There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather for counties south of I-70, excluding Boone and Callaway counties. The threat right now is the potential for supercellular development. High temperatures will reach into the low to mid 60s early next week. Our next dry and mostly sunny day is expected by Friday with warmer temperatures by next weekend.
