Heavy rain causes slick roads in Boone County

ABC 17 News crews have been monitoring road conditions amid the early morning rainfall.

According to dispatch records, only one crash has been reported in Boone County this morning. It’s unclear if weather played a factor in crash, but it occurred around 8 a.m. Sunday when Columbia was seeing some of the heaviest rainfall.

Our ABC 17 News crews on scene said it was a single-car crash that happened when the driver apparently swiped the guardrail. The driver did not appear to have any injuries.

Roads have been slick this morning, but the rain has tapered off. Our crews monitoring road conditions reported heavy pooling near Providence and Broadway in Columbia.
