Man charged with trafficking drugs in Cole County

A man was charged in Cole County Wednesday with trafficking drugs.

According to court documents, a police officer pulled over William Crabtree Tuesday for speeding.

The documents said Crabtree has an “extensive” narcotics history and denied consent of a search of his person and his vehicle during the stop.

The officer had a canine unit sniff around the car, and it alerted the officer to the front of the car. The officer searched the vehicle and found a set of digital scales with white residue identified as methamphetamine, court documents said.

Court documents also said the officer searched Crabtree and found two plastic bags containing 39 grams of meth.
