Severe Threat Today

TODAY: Scattered showers and t-storms in the morning will end by 10AM-12PM north of I-70. Non thunderstorm wind gusts of 30 mph is possible today with temperatures reaching the low 60s. There is an increasing risk for severe storms tonight, mainly after 6PM. All modes of severe weather will be possible.

TONIGHT: By 6PM-7PM areas west of US 63 should see storms begin to move in. Heavy rain and frequent lightning also looks likely. Counties of Saline, Chariton, and Macon could see the strongest storms this evening through midnight before additional rain and storms ride up HWY 54 bringing additional storms overnight to areas from US 63 and east to the counties of Osage, Callaway, Gasconade and Audrain through 4AM-5AM Thursday morning.

EXTENDED: Minor flooding is possible through Thursday night while widespread flooding is not expected. Thursday morning we’ll need to keep an eye for strong storms, however Thursday afternoon after 1PM areas east of US 63 could see additional storms capable of producing damaging wing and large hail. After the rain moves out Thursday evening, it will be dry and cool Friday with highs in the 50s. The weekend will start off dry with high temperatures in the lower 60s Saturday but another chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms moves in Sunday.
