Heavy rain and possible flooding Wednesday-Thursday

From Wednesday morning 4AM through Thursday night 11PM several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will bring heavy rain. The strongest storms will be isolated, bringing the potential for large hail 1″ in diameter or greater and winds up to 60 mph.

By 9AM on Wednesday morning areas west of US 63 and south of I-70 could pick up 0.50″ to 0.75″.

There will be a lull in the rain activity on Wednesday afternoon, before rain increases Wednesday night. Two areas will see the highest totals. The first near Brunswick, Marshall, and Sedalia, where up to 1.5″ is possible.

Isolated thunderstorms look possible on Wednesday evening from 5PM-8PM across Jefferson City and Columbia. The heaviest rain looks to increase by 7PM south of HWY 50 and lift up HWY 54 and east, bringing high precipitation rates through 11PM Wednesday night. Light rain will be possible during the day on Thursday, while isolated storms look possible on Thursday afternoon and evening, especially east of US 63 where rain totals up to 3″ is possible.
