Columbia man charged with distributing drugs near school

A Columbia man has been charged with distributing drugs near a school in central Columbia.

A drug-related search warrant was served back in November for Justin Aman’s home on West Worley Street after deputies say they found methamphetamine inside his home.

Deputies say they also found a digital scale with residue, packaging material, prescription pills, other drugs and stolen power tools.

Detective Tom O’Sullivan, with the Boone County Sheriff Department, says although drug-related warrants don’t happen daily, they do happen near schools.

O’Sullivan says because of the high population of schools in the city it can happen more frequently.

This isn’t Aman’s first run-in with the law either. He has faced similar charges dating back to 2009.

ABC 17 News called the Boone County Jail and we were told Aman has bonded out.
