Boone County man arrested on Business Loop 70

UPDATE 8 a.m.: Boone County deputies arrested Deaunte Mortez Shaw, 18, on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, drug possession and a prior warrant for deceiving police officers.

A sergeant said when deputies pulled over the car they found drugs and a gun.

Shaw is a convicted felon. Online records show that Shaw has been convicted of theft.

ORIGINAL: Boone County deputies pulled over a car for a traffic stop on Business Loop 70 near Columbia Pet Store and the ABC 17 News station around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

About 30 minutes later at least three more deputies were at the scene.

Deputies said there were two people in the car, but only one of them was arrested.

A sergeant on duty said that no one was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

As of right now, that is all the information the sergeant would share.

Boone County deputies are still investigating the incident.
