Evidence of shooting found at McKee Street Park in Columbia

UPDATE: 10:20 a.m.: Columbia police officers confirm they responded to McKee Street Park around 8 p.m. Monday.

Officials said officers found a car in the area with its rear window shot out. They also found a shell casing and a magazine clip nearby.

There were no reported injuries according to police.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police and the Boone County Sheriff’s Department responded to McKee Street Park around 8 p.m. Monday night for a shots heard call.

Police on the scene told ABC 17 News there were about 40 to 50 people involved in a fight at the park when someone fired a shot. That’s when everyone scattered.

Police said they found one vehicle struck by a bullet. They also found multiple shell casings and a magazine on the ground.

At this time, they believe no one was injured.

The scene was cleared before 9 p.m.
