Record high possible for first day of spring
TODAY: A mild morning is underway across Mid-Missouri, as temperatures are hovering near 60 degrees. With such a warm start to the day, we’ll see the potential for record warmth ahead of a cold front later today. Highs this afternoon will top out in the lower 80s, under partly cloudy skies. The record high is 81 set back in 1953, so there is the potential to break that high. Through the day winds will gradually shift out of the southwest to the northwest, as a cold front tracks through the region. Winds at time will be breezy under 15 mph. Despite this, the frontal passage should be a dry one, with the exception of light rain showers near I-44.
