Active weather pattern, daily look

A typical spring weather pattern is developing through the rest of March. The upper level winds which act as steering currents for storm systems are forecast to come in from west to east. As these waves move in from the Pacific, surface storm systems will develop, bringing rain and storm chances as they pick up moisture from the south.

We have chances of showers each day this week ahead of a strong storm system which moves in Friday through Saturday. Ahead of it, a line of showers and t-storms are expected to develop by Friday afternoon and slowly push east through the overnight hours. While a few stronger storms are possible, at this time it looks like severe storms are more likely in southern Missouri and Arkansas. However, this could change depending on the track of the surface low pressure area which will be better determined as it develops.

This type of pattern keeps temperatures mild but quite variable with quick warming followed by brief cooling. Overall, temperatures are expected to come in warmer than average through March.
