Increasing Clouds Saturday Evening with Overnight Storms

TONIGHT: After a sunny and pleasant Saturday, we’ll see clouds once again return to Mid-Missouri by late evening. These clouds will the leading edge of what will be a wet week ahead for us. Lows tonight will bottom out in the mid 30s, with winds out of the east under 10 mph. Showers and storms are expected to spread east after 3 AM, beginning west of Highway 63.

SUNDAY: Isolated showers and potential thunderstorms are possible in the morning hours on Sunday. The best chance to see any accumulation will be for areas along and west of US 65 and I-70. By the afternoon, conditions will dry up under partly sunny skies with a warmer high in the lower 60s. More storms are expected by evening, with the chance for some of them to be on the strong side. A marginal risk of severe weather is likely for areas along and north of I-70, with hail being the primary threat.

EXTENDED: By Monday morning, we’ll see some light rain showers and a few thunderstorms ahead of our next cold front. It will be cooler next Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the 50s and a chance of showers each day. Some beneficial rainfall is expected through most of next week, as upper air patterns bring storms right over Mid-Missouri.
