Light rain possible through Friday afternoon

TODAY: Light showers are possible this morning into the afternoon hours. While it’s dry for the most part right now, sprinkles will begin to impact the area as we head into 9-10 am hour. Through the day, the light rain showers will spread from north to south along a frontal boundary. The light rain looks to end by 2 pm near the I-44 corridor, with under .10″ rain expected. High temperatures today will reach the upper 60s with southerly winds shifting to the north up to 15 mph. While the first part of the day will see overcast skies, as the front drags through the area, we’ll start to see some clearing by mid-afternoon.

TUESDAY: After spending most of the day under overcast skies, we’ll see mostly clear skies, with cooler conditions. Lows tonight will bottom out in the mid to upper 30s, with a northwest breeze under 10 mph.

EXTENDED: Heading into the weekend, after a cold morning, high temperatures will reach near 60 Saturday afternoon under mostly sunny skies with northerly winds up to 10 mph. There is a slight rain chance Sunday morning mainly south of I-70 with a few rumbles of thunder possible. It will be warmer with highs in the low to mid 60s Sunday as winds switch back to the south. By Sunday night and Monday morning the rain chance increases ahead of the next cold front to arrive by next Monday night. Thunderstorms can’t be ruled out Sunday night and heading into Monday morning. Temperatures will climb into the lower 70s Monday, cooling back into the 50s for next Tuesday and Wednesday.
