Traffic Alert: I-70 near the Lake of the Woods exit backed up due to crashes

UPDATE 7:49am: MoDOT’s traveler information map shows a different collision on I-70 near the Lake of the Woods exit. MoDOT says this wreck happened in the eastbound lanes.

One wreck appears to have been cleared, but traffic could remain slowed in both directions.

ORIGINAL: It appears I-70 westbound near the Lake of the Woods exit is down to one lane due to a crash.

Boone County EMA sent an alert out about the crash just before 7:30 Wednesday morning.

It says the wreck happened just west of the exit and asked drivers to avoid the area.

Traffic cameras from MoDOT show emergency crews have the passing lane blocked and it appears a vehicle hit the median cables.

The cameras do show a back-up in the area.

ABC 17 News is working to find out when crews will have the crash cleared and if anyone was hurt.
