New appointments for Missouri Department of Corrections
The Missouri Department of Corrections announced today that Matt Sturm has been appointed as deputy director.
Sturm began his career with the department in 1 996 as a corrections caseworker at the Algoa Correctional Center in Jefferson City. From there, he served as associate constituent services officer from 1998 to 2001 at the department’s Central Office. He was promoted in 2001 to serve as the legislative liaison and supervisor of the Constituent Services Unit. In 2010, Sturm was promoted to the position of deputy director for the Division of Adult Institutions before being appointed as director of the Division of Offender Rehabilitative Services.
“Matt has proven to be an effective leader throughout his years of service with the department,” said Anne L. Precythe, director of the Missouri Department of Corrections. “His knowledge of the department and his extensive experience will serve him well in his new role.”
