UPDATE: Columbia man charged in connection to shooting
UPDATE: 4:30 p.m: Rusty McGrath has been formally charged in Boone County for assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.
McGrath has a $150,000 cash only bond and is ordered to have no contact with the victim.
UPDATE: 2:00 p.m.: Boone County deputies have arrested 21-year-old Rusty McGrath in connection with a shooting Monday morning.
Deputies told ABC 17 News McGrath turned himself in sometime around 12:45 p.m.
McGrath was arrested for first-degree assault, armed criminal action and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
McGrath is being booked into the Boone County Jail.
UPDATE: Boone County deputies told ABC 17 News that they have identified a suspect and hope to have that person in custody on Monday.
The victim is a 19-year-old man and the suspect is a 21-year-old man.
Deputies confirmed that the two men got into an argument before the shooting.
The accused shooter fled the scene before deputies arrived.
ORIGINAL: Boone County deputies have cleared the scene of an incident on Ludwick Boulevard in which they said one man was shot in the face.
The shooting was reported around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
The victim was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies told ABC 17 News that there was a small gathering at the home before the incident.
They also said the wound was not self-inflicted.
ABC 17 News talked with neighbors at the scene, who said they didn’t hear anything.
No one has been arrested. Deputies are still investigating.
