Winter is not over for mid-Missouri

Mid-Missouri has been snapped back into reality this weekend since it is beginning to feel a lot more like winter. Temperatures have dropped, we have seen snow, and this will continue for the start of the work week. Sunday night, temperatures will be well below freezing. In Columbia temperatures will be in the teens with even colder wind chills. This is causing for a freeze warning for all of mid-Missouri until 1 PM on Sunday.

Along with that, we can expect more winter weather for Monday. Sunday night into the morning on Monday we have a chance of snow. Some of this will be a mix since temperatures will be hovering around the freezing mark. For the morning commute on Monday, we may see some slick spots, especially on bridges and overpasses. Not much accumulation is expected with this system. Snow amounts remain less than an inch.

Continuing into the week we expect below average temperatures until Thursday. Thursday we pop back into the 50s, beginning to feel a lot more like spring again.
