Weekend and Monday morning snow
TONIGHT: A narrow band of wintry mix changing to snow is possible after 7 PM Friday evening in the Ozarks south of HWY 50. Only minor accumuation on grassy surfaces is possible after 10 PM. Winds will be breezy tonight under 15 mph from the northeast . Temperatures will drop to the mid to upper 20s, with wind chills in the teens early Saturday morning. There will be a chance for snow to increase north of I-70 by 2AM-4AM while most areas will see snow arrive Saturday morning.
SATURDAY: We’ll have periods of snow through the afternoon before tapering off by early evening. Light accumulation of 1″ to 2″ is looking possible for most locations. Under 1″ is likely south of I-70. We’ll need to monitor slightly higher accumulations up to 3″ for those north of HWY 24. Temperatures will be below or near freezing Saturday and untreated roads could be slick, especially bridges and overpasses. High temperatures will only reach the low 30s Saturday, falling into the upper teens by Sunday morning.
EXTENDED: Sunday looks dry and cold with highs in the upper 30s but another chance of snow moves in after 9 PM Sunday into Monday morning, with possible slick roads for the morning commute. Minor accumulation by next Monday looks possible. We’ll stay chilly Monday & Tuesday with highs in the upper 30s to near 40 but will start warming for the second half of next week, reaching near 60 by Friday.
