Dickinson out as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri

Tammy Dickinson stepped down from her position as United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri on Friday.

Don Ledford, spokesman for the office, confirmed the news.

This development comes as U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions asked nearly 50 of the 93 U.S. attorneys to resign. All of those asked to step down were appointed under President Barack Obama.

Ledford said Tom Larson will serve as acting attorney for the office until President Trump appoints a new chief of the office, and the Senate confirms that person. Larson was previously First Assistant U.S. Attorney, then Deputy U.S. Attorney in the Western District office.

Dickinson was appointed by President Obama in 2013.
