Tornado Watch this evening

A Tornado Watch has been issued for Cooper, Chariton, Howard, Macon, Pettis, Randolph & Saline counties until 10 PM. The watch will likely be expanded to include additional counties which will be updated here.

Storms will develop this evening & form into a fast moving line of storms. As storms move into our northwestern counties, a few tornadoes are possible. Scattered large hail is likely with hail up to the size of tennis balls. As the line of storms moves southeast overnight, damaging winds to 70 mph will become the main threat although a quick, spin up tornado and large hail will still be possible.

Storms are projected to be in Chariton, Saline and Macon counties close to 8-9 PM, into Columbia just after 10 PM and into Jefferson City close to 11 PM. Below are projected storm arrival times.
